Solutions for post-production and broadcast processes
Rohde & Schwarz has re-equipped its systems with innovative features to reinforce its technological leadership in post-production and broadcast processes. The new generation of the R&S Clipster mastering station has been optimized as a complete solution for mastering and delivering premium content and now offers greater flexibility, quality and performance, helping service providers expand their offerings.
It now enables the playout of uncompressed 4K content with 120p (HFR), and in combination with extended J2K IMF profiles for HDR, gives content creators higher resolutions and image refresh rates, as well as wider color spaces. R&S CLIPSTER thus reaffirms its technological leadership and consolidates its exclusive position as a reference system also in the MFI format.
The R&S VENICE intake and playout platform is the answer to the modern needs of live and studio production, as well as television operators. It also presents in its 4K version (R&S VENICE 4K) equal flexibility of handling and integration, so that production and television studios have unbeatable performance and image quality in 4K/UHD-1, while maintaining interoperability and simple HD workflows.
Rohde & Schwarz storage solutions also provide outstanding performance. With a storage density of 60 TB in a rack unit, unique in the market, they meet the highest demands of post-production and broadcast customers, who demand secure storage and large capacity in a minimum space.
Greater savings with low-power transmitters
The range of high energy efficiency R&S Tx9 transmitters has been expanded with a low-power UHF transmitter for DVB-T, DVB-T2 and ISDB-TB digital standards. The R&S TLU9 reduces operating expenses considerably. Its advanced components and an architecture that significantly improves the quality and stability of the signal guarantee unparalleled availability with long maintenance intervals.
The transmitter has an integrated backup battery, which represents a unique feature in this class. This battery prevents power outages of up to ten seconds from causing the transmitter to reboot, reducing downtime to a minimum. This contributes decisively to regular operation without interruptions. The air-cooled R&STLU9®transmitter is available with output powers from 1 W up to 200 W.
ATSC 3.0: live technology at the stand
Rohde & Schwarz exhibited, at the last NAB Show, a test configuration for ATSC 3.0 with the R&S BTC (Broadcast Test Center) and the R&SFSV®spectrum analyzer. In this configuration, the ATSC 3.0 signal generated by the R&S BTC is demodulated by the spectrum analyzer and represented in real time. With this combination of technologies, Rohde & Schwarz highlights its competence in the generation of OFDM signals for a new complex transmission standard, also integrated into the transmitters of the R&S Tx9 generation.
As a reference signal generator, the R&S BTC provides automatic analysis and testing functions for audio, video and multimedia applications, as well as streaming simulations, making it imperative in the introduction of new standards. It stands out for its excellent technical properties and a modular and flexible design. It is a high-end signal generator that generates RF signals for the most important and current broadcasting standards on a global scale.
