NAB. Shotoku Broadcast Systems will launch SmartPed in Las Vegas, the latest addition to its wide range of advanced robotic camera systems. The fully robotic XY pedestal, SmartPed addresses the creative and commercial demands of airborne environments with a cost-effective, high-performance solution.
The pedestal of three smooth steering wheels features a new height column without the need for pneumatic balance. Multi-zone collision avoidance, detection systems and electromechanical steering/drive system, provide unprecedented levels of performance and reliability.
SmartPed offers instant switching between local/remote operation, making the pedestal versatile and easy to handle in any application. No calibration is always required when switching between these modes and a local control mount bar.
Specifically intended for day-to-day use in high-end live TV productions, SmartPed's design provides reliability and built-in ease of use right from the start. The height column is exceptionally stable and provides better performance in the air during pedestal movement even at the highest chamber elevations.
