NAB. Panasonic presented in Las Vegas the new camcorders with 4K UHD quality. From portable models or cameras for television studio, to the innovative VariCam LT designed for digital film productions, the new Panasonic models will be available during 2016 worldwide.
One of Panasonic's main launches is the new UX Series of 4K UHD video cameras for professional applications that, due to its portability, compact design and complete functions, will become the natural successor to the successful AVCCAM series of AVCHD format cameras.
They are two models, currently in development and scheduled for release in the fall of 2016, the AG-UX180 of the Premium UX Series and the AG-UX90 of the Standard UX Series. The AG-UX180, with 1-inch MOS sensor (effective size), 20X optical zoom and recording capability with UHD quality at 60P; while the AG-UX90, also with 1-inch MOS sensor (effective size), 15X optical zoom and 30P UHD recording.
UX Series camcorders allow you to capture images in 4K (4096 x 2160, 24p only) and UHD (3840 x 2160) quality through SD memory cards as a storage medium. In particular, the AG-UX180 supports recording with the dual codec (UHD2/FHD), infrared video capture in low light conditions, as well as having 3G SDI/HDMI2.0 outputs.
New VariCam LT, compact camcorder 4K Super 35 Cinema
Panasonic also announced the immediate availability of the state-of-the-art VariCam LT 4K cinema camera. The VariCam LT inherits the same super 35mm sensor and excellent image production capabilities that set the award-winning VariCam 35 camera apart, but with significant reductions in size, weight and price.
Incorporating the same image "DNA", with identical performance, but in a more compact version, the VariCam LT (model AU-V35LT1G) offers 14 stops of dynamic range with the V-Log, cinematic image quality, color management and the innovative native dual ISO 800/5000, which are characteristic of the VariCam.
With just under 2.7 kilos of weight and superior performance to cameras of similar size, the VariCam LT is the ideal equipment for handheld camera productions, SteadiCam applications, crane mounts, mechanical arm, drones and in general for any job in which the camera plays a leading role. Available in four configuration packages, the VariCam LT is a team tailored to cameramen who own their own equipment, documentarians, independent filmmakers and filmmakers in production companies.
The VariCam LT offers magnificent images in multiple formats ranging from 4K, UHD, 2K and HD, in addition, just as VariCam 35 is capable of capturing High Dynamic Range (HDR) fields. This new 4K camera offers support for HD recording on Apple ProRes 4444 (up to 30p) and ProRes 422 HQ (p 60), as well as Panasonic's advanced family of AVC-ULTRA video codecs.
High Speed 4K and 1080P Studio Cameras
Panasonic has significantly expanded its offer of studio cameras with the immediate availability of the AK-UC3000 with 4K system and the AK-HC5000, with output of up to 1080p in 239.76 p.
Aimed at studios and productions that require High-End functionality at an affordable price, the AK-UC3000 is equipped with a large Full-UHD resolution MOS sensor, with an internal conversion lens that produces a UHD signal of up to 3840/2160/59.94p, while offering extraordinary HD image quality. The camera supports the 2/3-inch lens range to maximize customers' investment by leveraging existing lenses, as well as enabling a wider and cheaper selection of optics for different applications such as sports, concerts and other similar productions.
For its part, the high-resolution AK-HC50000 provides a high-speed output of up to 1080/p239.76, making it the standard of Panasonic's studio cameras. The camera incorporates new 3-CMOS 2.2M sensors of 2/3" of high sensitivity (F11/2000lx), low noise level (60dB + S / N) and resolution measured at 1100 TV lines.
