Transition to IP and security are Cisco's bet

International. Cisco presented service providers, multimedia companies and entertainment channels how to improve their agility, reduce costs and provide the best user experience based on an open, highly secure and cloud-ready IP platform.

The company unveiled different video solutions based on IP connectivity, cloud and virtualization technologies, thus reinforcing its focus on Cloud solutions, virtualized video processing and end-to-end security for service providers and the multimedia and entertainment industry.

Key announcements include: 

New cloud-based video entertainment solutions designed to provide multi-screen TV services through a single Cloud environment and across any access network, both within the home and on the go.

Virtualized Video Processing (V2P) solutions for the entire video workflow, thus consolidating multiple header infrastructures into a single, unified, virtualized solution. Cisco will introduce a new V2P software application designed to provide the highest video image quality and optimize bandwidth efficiency.

Managed virtual services, including end-to-end automation with multi-domain virtualization and orchestration.

Innovative security solutions that protect video content in the data center before it is distributed and after it reaches consumers' homes, as well as enterprise-class web and email security.

Private and hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions to enable media and entertainment companies' data centers to meet video workflow requirements with scalability and security.

The latest innovations in CPE (Local Customer Team) using HEVC/4K, WiFi, RDK-B and software and gateway architecture to optimize video and data distribution in the home.

An optimized, cloud-based user experience using Cisco Snowflake 16, enabling service providers and media companies to lean on the cloud to redefine consumers' interaction with video on any screen, anywhere.
