International. Blackmagic Design announced that the beta version of Fusion 8, the special effects program and graphic animations is now available. This version can be downloaded for free from the company's website and is compatible with Mac OS X and Windows operating systems.
In addition, Blackmagic will soon launch a beta version for Fusion 8 Studio that includes stereoscopic three-dimensional tools and is aimed at multi-user workgroups or larger studios. However, those with the current edition of Fusion Studio installed will be able to download this update at no additional charge and start using it immediately.
This is also the first beta version of the Mac-compatible program, as previously the product was only available for the Windows operating system. The availability of the free version for Mac computers will open the doors to an unprecedented number of editors, special effects designers and graphic animation composers.
On the other hand, it will allow to transfer the projects from one version to another of the program, giving users the possibility of using the computer platform they prefer. In this way, anyone with a Mac or Windows computer will be able to access the same high-end tools used by the best Hollywood professionals in the creation of visual effects.
People who have followed fusion's development for a long time will also notice that interface improvements have been implemented in the six months following the release of version 8 at the NAB show, and in turn users will appreciate the modern style of the program.
