Colombia. The ICT Minister in Charge, María Carolina Hoyos Turbay, gave the community a Digital Plus Living Point in Barrancabermeja, located in the I.E. Higher Technical Institute of Commerce of that city.
The Vive Digital Plus Point has Internet access, rooms for young students and the community in general to receive training and entertainment and specific rooms in software development and audio and video production.
With the workshops on application creation, animations and software development that will be offered to people of all ages, the national government encourages students and the community to be entrepreneurs and generators of new knowledge.
The Minister in charge María Carolina Hoyos, presented this innovative project to the community: "We inaugurated this center of access to technology for students to develop their talents. The National Government invested 299 million pesos in this Vive Digital Plus Point."
The Vive Digital Plus Points are the second stage of the project that seeks to provide access to technology to all segments of the population, and that add a complete system for audiovisual production. The production studios have a trilayer as the center of the system.
The Colombian government plans to install about 300 Vive Digital Plus Points in different parts of the country.
