International. Univision's Sábado Gigante is filming its final season after 53 years on the air, making it the longest-running variety series in history.
To perfectly capture all the audio nuances of the conclusive sketches, interviews, contests and live performances of the season of this beloved broadcast program, the sound team has selected microphones: d:screet 4061 Miniature Omnidirectional, d:fine 4066 Omnidirectional Headband and DPA d:facto Vocal Microphones.
"I was introduced to DPA microphones more than 20 years ago, when I was working on music productions, and I continued to use them when I transitioned to television," says Jose Freddy Gonzalez, Audio Productions-Entertainment Supervisor for The Univision Network.
He added that "The quality of the company's products is exceptional, not only from an audio point of view, but also the design and durability are surprising."
Weekly Gonzalez and his team rely on 12 of the company's d:screet 4061 microphones to microphone Don Francisco and the guests. By incorporating tie microphones into clothing and microphoning musical instruments up close, they can hide the amplification method used in artists.
The 4061 capsule provides a clean and dynamic sound, with a flatter frequency response, ideal for the live broadcast environment.
