Blackmagic updated the software for ATEM mixers

International. Blackmagic Design announced that the new version 6.3 of the ATEM mixer software with advanced macros that allow the user to perform multiple functions instantly and simultaneously at the touch of a button is now available. These are very easy to create and are stored in the memory of the mixer, so they can be activated from any control panel connected to it.

Version 6.3 can be downloaded free of charge from the support page of the Blackmagic Design website. It is compatible with the latest Ultra HD models and the ATEM Television Studio, as well as other mixers that are no longer manufactured.

Unforeseen events may occur during live productions. The new macros allow you to preset complicated settings, giving the user the possibility to select dozens of settings at the press of a button. This ensures the quality of the transmission and prevents mistakes from being made when switching between the different cameras. Innovative features also make it easy to retrieve complex scenes or even animations in real time.

Macros allow you to create automated instruction sequences with great precision, which can include transitions between video sources, graphic elements, audiovisual material files and overlapping images. It is also possible to adjust the audio level, modify the settings of the cameras and even schedule pauses to create animations.

To customize the macros you can use the ATEM Software Control program, compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems, or directly use the ATEM 1 M/E and ATEM 2 M/E control panels. On the other hand, users who are in charge of large programs can take advantage of the possibility of copying macros from one mixer to another to run them in different panels simultaneously or save them to implement different configurations from a particular location or mixer.

You can also combine multiple macros to create complex sequences with the ability to refine them and make simple changes in the future.
