Colombia. San Cayetano, a municipality located in the department of Norte de Santander, is one of the two localities in which the project called "DTT pilot municipalities" will be executed in Colombia, chosen for their technical, geographical and population conditions.
The project contemplates the adaptation, installation and commissioning of a decoder with digital signal in the DVB T2 standard, to enjoy DTT in each of the homes of the urban capital of the Municipality registered by the National Administrative Department of Statistics, DANE.
The pilot project also aims to produce communication pieces that can be used in other areas of the country, as well as first-hand knowledge of the steps that the transition will entail in municipalities.
On July 14, the civil authorities of the municipality and the department will meet with representatives of anTV, Señal Colombia and the European company Astec. This will be formalized with the institutionality of the beginning in the execution of the project of pilot municipalities for DTT in Colombia.
Ulloa, in the Valley, is the other municipality chosen for this project, which will be executed during the course of the second half of 2014 by RTVC, CCPT and ANTV, within the framework of the strategy of the socialization process of the migration from analogue television to digital television, which has the final date of the blackout in 2019.
To this end, the entities will jointly carry out education and pedagogy programs aimed at the inhabitants of these municipalities, to set the mood for the change in technology.
