Latin America. Considering that creating higher-resolution content, i.e. 4K onwards, requires monitors with larger screen sizes to perform accurate color assessment, Sony introduced its new professional OLED monitors, referenceD PVM-A250 25-inch, and PVM-A170 17-inch.
These combine a lightweight, slim and very portable design with the proven technological features of high color accuracy, high contrast and image quality. The new models ( achieved reductions of approximately 40% in depth and weight compared to previous models, offering greater flexibility and ease of use for the production of live programs and applications on outdoor mobiles.
Angiecarla Eyzaguirre (photo), Senior Product Manager of Professional Monitors at Sony Professional Latin America, highlighted that "These new OLED models have the screen size necessary for a critical evaluation, with a thinner and lighter design that is perfect for live broadcasts and outdoor shots. In addition, they include a handle for easy transport."
To achieve less weight and depth in the new monitors, Sony re-engineered its entire design, from the chassis and module structure of the OLED panel to the signal processing board, material and parts. The result is a saving of space and logistics costs, especially important in the reduced space of an outdoor mobile. Energy consumption is also reduced by 9 to 14% depending on the model.
Durability is also an important aspect in field monitors, to protect them against transport damage and the rigors of on-site use. In addition, a unique structure design and an optional panel protection kit with edge protectors are included to protect the panel, connectors and cabinet of the new monitors.
