Venezuela. As part of the Venezuelan government's plan to provide television to the entire population of the country, framed in the program Televisión Directa al Hogar, TDH, last weekend 3,500 kits were delivered to access the system to the same number of families in the Central West region.
The delivery plan of the satellite television kits is coordinated directly by the Compañía Anónima Nacional Teléfonos de Venezuela, Cant. These are composed of a satellite antenna, a set-top box, a remote control, a compass, a user card, bases, cables and installation screws.
According to Ramón Suárez, manager of mass services of the program, the kits, which have a record of 250 bolivars and the states of the Central West region benefited from the kits were Lara, in which 1,200 units were delivered; Portuguesa, to which 980 units were destined; in Cojedes there were 560 units and in Yaracuy 760 units.
The organizers of the day assured that for the selection of the beneficiaries with the kits, priority was given to families who had never had the television service.
The Direct to Home Television service is offered through the Simón Bolívar satellite, has a grid of 44 channels that include those of the National System of Public Media, as well as six radio stations. In addition, according to Venezuelan government data, it has a cost three times lower than the service offered by private subscription television operators.
