Alteran's processing laboratory (APL) won a contract with Panamanian broadcaster Televisora Nacional to migrate its collection of PAL tapes to digital archives.
The laboratory offers solutions for the digitization of videotape files in its facilities, where the tapes are inventoried using Alteran's proprietary tracking software. The company offers new and certified hardware and software along with trained engineers and technicians to convert the tapes to any digital file output format. The content is organized for retrieval and storage based on the customer's specifications.
APL can convert high-definition, standard-definition, analog or digital video tapes into any format for mastering or archiving, and supports a wide range of industry-standardized codecs.
"After careful review we chose APL as our migration partner," said Alejandro Arjona, vice president of engineering for Panama's National Television. "We need a lab that can meet our challenges of converting PAL and NTSC 2", 1", 3/4" U-Matic, Beta SP, Digibeta, DCT and DV. APL has the capabilities to respond to these needs and more."
