The company now has a new website for the dissemination, teaching and democratization of the 3D experience. This site will present the latest 3D production and presentation experiences, case studies, benefits, equipment information, how the 3D platform works and news related to Sony 3D technology.
Recently, Sony Corporation has made several announcements about its commitment to creating the platform to facilitate the production, processing and distribution of 3D content.
For example, Sony Corporation and FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) announced an agreement granting select media rights to the 2010 FIFA World Cup to be broadcast in 3D, marking the first time in history that this event will be captured in a three-dimensional way.
Among other announcements made by Sony are the launch of LCD TVs compatible with 3D signals that incorporate a sequential display of image frames in conjunction with an active shutter lens system that, in partnership with Sony's proprietary technology of high frame rate per second, allow the reproduction of three-dimensional HD images.
Sony will also develop 3D on many of its devices, such as Blue-ray disc products, VAIO computers and PlayStation, to provide multiple forms of 3D content in the home.
The address of the new website is www.sony.net/united/3D/
