Apple announced the Final Cut Studio update with over a hundred new features and new versions of Final Cut Pro, Motion, Soundtrack Pro and Color and Compressor.
Final Cut Pro 7 includes new versions of Apple's codecs, ProRes, to support virtually any workflow with the addition of the ProRes proxy for mobile and offline editing at low bandwidth; ProRes LT, for general editing purposes; and ProRes 4444 for high-quality editing and visual effects.
Easy Export allows users to continue working on their projects while the encoding process is done in the background and the sequence is exported to YouTube, MobileMe, iPhone, iPod, Apple TV, DVD or Blu-ray.
iChat Theater enables real-time collaborations by sharing Final Cut timelines or individual clips with iChat users anywhere in the world, even if they don't have a copy of Final Cut Pro.
Motion 4 includes enhanced tools like 3D shadows, reflections, and depth of field for stunning motion graphics and visual effects. For its part, Soundtrack Pro 3 presents new multitrack audio utilities to streamline sound production and post-production.
Color 1.5 has better integration with Final Cut Pro and supports high color resolutions; and Compressor 3.5 adds features that make it easier to set up and customize export options.
Other features include: tools to change clip speed with ease, alpha transitions to create dramatic effects using matte motion finishes, and native and AVC-Intra support for Panasonic's latest high-resolution cameras.
It is worth noting the significant price reduction that Apple made on this product, in relation to the previous version.
