To make it easier for its SD customers to transition to HD, Panasonic announced the immediate availability of its versatile 2/3" convertible AW-HE870N camera, which supports 1080i/720p/480i image capture.

With this wide range, the equipment is usable in a wide range of applications and light conditions, and is compatible with most motors for 2/3-inch zoom lenses, all current Panasonic Broadcast controllers, and many third-party systems. The HE870 offers a simple way to upgrade for HD, for thousands of SD camera users.

According to the manufacturer, the versatility, high quality of the video and cost effectiveness of the HE870, make it an idea equipment for use in education, government institutions, houses of religious worship, corporations, rental companies and others. The HE870 is the latest addition to Panasonic's line of convertible HD cameras, which includes the native 1080i resolution AKHC1800N and the high-performance AK-HC1500G.

The HE870's new 38 btis digital signal processor (DSP) and 14-bit A/D converter deliver super-clear images. The high sensitivity of the camera is rated at 2000 lux to f11, which gives it great capture potential in the most diverse lighting conditions.
