Envivio announced that its 4Caster B3 encoder was selected to encode the video of MTV's mobile television services in Brazil. The MTV mobile programming is broadcast using a Brazilian variant of the successful Japanese digital terrestrial television standard ISDB-T, which includes the 1sec specification for mobile TV.
The government ordered that delivering content to mobile devices outside included within the new digital television system national. Envivio's 4Caster B3 encoder, chosen by MTV as well as by other broadcasters, it supports the specification defined within the mobile television standard 1sec.

MTV and five other broadcasters -TV Globo, TV Record, BAND TV, SBT and TV Gazeta- started officially its digital terrestrial television broadcasts on Sao Paulo on December 2. Service packages include mobile, SD and HD content. Covering cities like Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Goiania, Salvador and Recife is scheduled for 2008.
Envivio's 4Caster B3 offers increased processing power for advanced applications of compression and noise reduction for wide applications narrow band. Within its wide range of features, B3 supports H.264 video encoding with a level 1.3 of baseline profile at 30 frames per second and supports the HE-AAC audio encoding. The increased efficiency of bandwidth combined with high video quality at low bitrates, allows broadcasters like MTV to expand their offering while optimizing production on its distribution networks.
