First steps of IPTV in Latin America

The offer of audiovisual products through the Internet grows, although timidly in Latin America. Two companies: VOY TV and canalenlinea.com are examples of this. In addition to audiovisual products, they also offer other complementary services.

Although few, there are more and more the companies that are launching to offer television and video, in union with other services, through the internet in America Latin. The companies VOY LLC, with offices in Buenos Aires, and www.canalenlinea.com, of Venezuelan origin, take advantage of the characteristics of the network to offer audiovisual content over broadband.

VOY LLC launched the site VOY TV (www.voytv.com), the new video service of the VOY digital media platform in the multidimensional space Internet 2.0. VOY TV combines programming content original with user-generated videos.

Enhancing services and VOY features, VOY TV offers a combination of original programming -the Premium Channels- with videos of own generation of users who will also be able to exchange video clips, create blogs and interact with others people with similar interests. VOY TV starts like this with several original and acquired series to meet expectations of users in search of entertainment and interaction in a digital community.

Alejandro Cosentino, Manager General of VOY Online Communities, states that "VOY incorporates a wide range of distribution channels - broadband, Wireless, TV, Movies, Music and DVD- so you the audience interested in Entertainment and Latino Culture can connect on the channel of your choice. As a result, I GO has the ability to offer advertisers and developers of content a direct way of reaching this audience in rapid growth."

For its part, www.canalenlinea.com is an initiative of Omar Pirela and EKO Studio C. A. that was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, whose goal is to be a meeting point for all audiovisual filmmakers who wish to project your product. Initially www.canalenlinea.com is aimed at students and independent filmmakers as an option to give to know their ideas and concepts in video and audio. In this way www.canalenlinea.com is also a catalog of new products to be purchased by commercial television channels open or wired.

Upload an audiovisual work is totally free and the permanence of the same on the site is six months. Programs are not subject to schedules and days broadcast specifics, as the public can watch them on the site at any time of the day within the period of publication. The website is designed based on metadata, which complements the topic discussed in space.
