The new telephoto lens Fujinon XA88X8.8BESM has a magnification of 88X and is the longer focal length telephoto (8.8mm to 777mm) available today. It includes Fujinon's Precision Focus Assist (PFA), which helps refine aspects of the focus on the initial production of HDTV: from the low depth of the focus format and the lack of size up to resolution in camera viewfinders.
The XA88x8.8 is also very compact at 258 (H) x 270 (W) x 625mm (L), with PFA.
The XA88x8.8 is ideal for the coverage of major sporting events thanks to its capacity to capture wide-angle shots or long-distance close-ups in 16:9, 4:3 HD or SD, said Dave Waddel, Manager of Fujinon Marketing. There is no other lens available today that deliver the angle amplitude performance like the new XA88x8.8 and Fujinon's Precision Focus Assist technology. The ability to capture images under low light conditions secures with an F number of 1.7, from 8.8 mm up to 348 mm and only drops to F3.8 at 777 mm.
The lens is also equipped, with Fujinon's unique GO technology that improves resolution image and chromatic aberrations at all distances Focal. Multiple aspherical elements of the lens are built-in, with three zoom groups, allowing optimal optical quality for the entire range. It also ensures that everyone the optical components in the composition of the lenses are fully optimized, resulting in an improvement of between 20 and 30% in all optical characteristics, when compares with conventional lenses without advanced GO technology of Fujinon.

The high-speed serial communication link between zoom/focus and lens demands give the operator control precise.
