FlipFactory HD is the new member from Telestream's FlipFactory product family. This software simplifies media font conversion multiformat to HD standard.
David Heppe, Vice President of Telestream stated that the new product solves the problem faced by channels that regularly receive commercials in mixed HD and SD formats and they need to convert them into on-air HD signals. For those who handle content with SD files, FlipFactory HD provides a batch automatic conversion to HD saving time and resources.
FlipFactory fits into flows of file-based work by removing the additional step that it would require a hardware-based upconverter. The tasks of Conversions are fully automatic without the need for baseband signal routing or the intervention of a operator. FlipFactory HD automatically monitors and accepts media SD and HD from system folders, converts the files in 1080i or 720p and send the HD media with the files of metadata corresponding to the target system. Additionally FlipFactory can generate proxies for visualization in desktop computers and flow formats for publishing on the web.
Initially, FlipFactory supports GrassValley, Omneon and Pinnacle server formats, as well as MPEG VOD, Windows Media, and QuickTime transport streams. Work is currently underway to expand support to others media server formats.
FlipFactory HD runs on Top of Window 2003 or XP, can load balance between two or more servers which makes it a scalable and redundant platform.
