Focus Enhancements, provider of devices for video production, showed during the past NAB fair its new FireStore FS-4 HD and FS-4Pro HD recorders with Direct to Edit (DTE) technology.
In addition to recording DV25, just as the portable DTE recorders that exist in The market, FireStore will record pure HD streams originating in products such as Sony HDV and JVC cameras. The FireStore is then connect to a Mac or PC, laptop or desktop, so video professionals can edit directly from the FS-4. This device is ideal for sports, news and live event apps they use some HD format.
The FS-4 HD and FS-4 Pro HD le allow users to switch between standard definition mode DV25 and HD mode. DV25 mode records in any of the eight or ten file formats supported by DTE technology, while HD mode records MPEG2 transport streams from 480p/576p, 720p or 1080i that can be used immediately by NLE applications that support them.
The FS4-HD brings a battery pack Li-Ion, 16 front buttons, an LCD display, various modes of control, a six-second retrocache, function keys user programmable and a large number of playback.
In addition to HD formats described, FireStore supports RawDV, AVI Type 1, AVI Type 2, Martos AVI, Canopus AVI, QuickTime, 24p Quick Time, and 4p AVI Type 2. The FS ProHD also includes up to 10 seconds of retrocache, loop recording, user-definable folders for scene marking and support for additional formats such as Avid DV-OMF and Pinnacle AVI.
