Fast Forward Video (FFV) announced the launch of the Elite HD, the first digital video recorder and player (DVR) in host the JPEG 2000 (J2K) comprehension encoder for the recording of HD-SDI video signals. Elite HD provides broadcasters an option to record high-quality video from HD-SDI cameras while reducing media costs of storage.
Designed to be mounted on the back or base From the camera, the Elite HD accepts an incoming video signal HD-SDI with up to eight channels of embedded audio and uses J2K to in order to record at data rates up to 100 Mbs with almost no loss of signal quality. The video is stored in a 2.5-inch SATA external drive, interchangeable in service, which provides up to 10 times more storage for greatly reduce costs. Additionally, the Elite HD enables cheaper file-based workflows with its modular design, and can be easily disconnected from the camera and connected directly to an editing system non-linear via a USB cable.
The Elite HD supports all types of HD-SDI and other cameras video sources with supported speeds, including Iconix HR-1; Canon XL H1 and G1; Sony F900, XDCAM HD, and XDCAM EX; JVC GY-HD250; Panasonic GP-US932; and Toshiba IK-HD1. The Elite HD also works with any HD-SDI switcher with an output of compatible format, making it ideal for recording live events.
