The new I-J2K suite, part of HD Link technology from CineForm, can be found in Prospect HD and NEO products HD, from the company. These products will include a plug-in decoder that transparently converts JPEG files 2000 generated by the Infinity DMC to a file format that is easily manageable by CS3 Production Suite users of Adobe and Apple's Final Cut Pro Studio.
In addition to converting JPEG 2000 files to an easy format to edit, the suite creates AVI or QuickTime files to get previews and facilitate playback on Mac platforms and PC, similarly to other commonly used files.
JPEG 2000 files are being consolidated as a new efficient way of capturing and distributing video with a minimum of broadband requirements. In addition, CineForm has developed two separate components, DirectShow (for Windows) and QuickTime (for Mac), which will allow other companies include the option to convert JPEG 2000 files, generated by the Infinity, in their respective products for transcoding for use with Avid technology and other systems.
