Avid has just launched a new, easy-to-use, real-time, open shared storage solution at a low cost: ISIS 5000, built on the proven Unity ISIS technology used in more than 700 large audiovisual companies to store, share and manage large amounts of digital media. According to the manufacturer, users of this system will be able to improve the distribution of their creative resources and support the changing needs of their projects with an open centralized storage platform that offers access to the high-performance ISIS File System technology, with a lower cost of hardware and support of applications of other brands.
Designed to meet the specific needs of workgroups that need 40 connections or less, and are looking for greater flexibility to accommodate ongoing changes and new business opportunities, the ISIS 5000 centralized storage solution is tested and approved with Apple Final Cut Pro, as well as supporting the Avid workflow from start to finish.
The firm made the Avid ISIS 5000 available to the market since July 30 in a configuration of 32TB or 64TB (switched), or a 32TB Direct Connect configuration that offers four direct client connections and the possibility of adding a switch of another brand. All configurations support Mac or PC clients and include 40 licenses with one to three years of Avid Priority or Avid Uptime support.
