Adobe and Intel announced plans to collaborate on the hosting development and optimization of Adobe technology Flash for Intel CE 3100 media processor. It is expected that this effort provides consumers with visual experiences richer and smoother video and web-based via set top Intel-based boxes, Blu-Ray players, TVs digital and AV connection devices.
The high-definition capabilities of the Adobe Platform Flash, in conjunction with the Intel CE 3100 media processor, the first of a new Intel System family on Specific Chips (SoCs) for CE devices, creates a powerful port of entertainment, able to offer rich web content and Adobe Flash-based applications to a range of CE devices connected to the internet. Intel and Adobe work together to optimize both Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Flash Lite for CE 3100. Intel plans to ship the first CE 3100 with support for an optimized implementation of Adobe Flash Lite before mid-2009.
The two companies are leaders in consistent support of internet content rich in PCs, laptops, netbooks, mobile devices of the internet and now televisions, which expands the objective in Common to speed up video and internet content over the entire range of consumer devices.

Intel and Adobe have a long history of collaboration technological, which includes the recent foundation of the Open Screen Project. This project, announced in May 2008, is designed to allow a runtime environment consisting of different types of screen. The initiative has 20 important industry partners and is dedicated to enabling web content, individual apps, and web browsing complete on TVs, cable boxes, mobile devices and other consumer electronic devices that take advantage of Adobe AIR and Adobe Flash capabilities.
The Open Screen Project strives to eliminate barriers for developers and designers who want to publish content and applications, both on desktop devices as mobiles, said David Wadhwani, general manager and Vice President of the Business Platform Unit at Adobe. Intel CE Media Processor 3100 offers a platform powerful, capable of delivering out-of-the-box Flash experiences to millions of users, while the new generation of Televisions and cable boxes make their way into the rooms of the households.
Adobe and Intel are also working together to carry a optimized implementation of Adobe AIR technology to the Intel's digital home platform in the future.
