State of the audiovisual industry

According to John Footen, the media will be highly sustainable due to the support and value addition that new open software resources will bring.

According to John Footen, in three years the media will be highly sustainable due to the support and addition of value that they will bring the new open software resources. These considerations, as well as the current landscape of the Industry will be developed in depth during the seminar "Digital television (Almost) without stress", organized by TV and Video.

On the state of the industry in 2008, the expert argues that within the main developments and changes in the sector stand out: a refocus on motivated Internet semantics by the evolution of Web 3.0, although the industry is not yet prepared for it; the introduction and greater reception of the filming with digital cameras; the growth of the different distribution platforms; the creation of content for mobile television and the new technologies of visualization.

On the subject of visualization, Footen claims that the system Traditional Home Theatre is gradually transformed into Home Cinema. In this way, the display devices will be advanced enough to project content for cinema without losing quality.

For Footen, high-definition television has expanded its range of possibilities but must maintain compatibility. New techniques to improve the contrast ratio and noise reduction is emerging, and technologies such as Blu-Rays contain a wide definition of color. These improvements can provide the long-awaited experience of a Home environment Teather at home.

Footen also inquires about the new role that the networks and production and distribution companies in the creation of communities around content consumption, a factor that influence the distribution strategy.

To this end, companies will look for better strategies to isolate specific consumer demographics and produce content for them. Likewise, work will be done on the create a new class of media users in which the Advertising creates, in its own way, the sense of community.

The formation of content communities is being making it the norm, with or without the help of producers. For example, a large part of the prime time programs are using collaborative technologies on the Internet to engage to viewers and some brands have benefited thanks to the recognition and attention to these created societies around in media consumption.

If you want to know more about this topic and about others that directly influence the development of digital television, register for the seminar "Digital Television (Almost) without stress", organized by TV and Video, and access information first hand.
