Autoscript celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary this year at NAB with three launches: high-brightness LED screens for all its telepronter systems; a pedal for the control of the booklet to be read for the presenter, and a portable telepronter of one pound of weight and screen of 5.6 inches to use on the camera on the shoulder. The Miniscript, as this monitor is called, has all the characteristics of major systems, and seeks to address the growing use of portable cameras in live productions. This modality in which the presenter moves freely around the set without losing the thread of his libretto, gives the production a convenient sense of proximity to the audience and increases the creative options of the program.
Although the monitor is mounted above the lens, the reading line is left at the lowest possible level so that it does not appear that the presenter is reading without looking into the eyes of the audience. With the camera at the right distance, the effect is imperceptible.
