Latin America. MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems celebrates its 50th anniversary to coincide with the upcoming NAB Show 2026, commemorating five decades of innovation, customer-centric engineering, and sustained growth in the broadcast and live production industries.
Founded in 1976 by Vincent Jachetta, an Italian immigrant and NBC engineer, MultiDyne's story began with a revolutionary product developed in the family basement: the TS-1, the broadcasting industry's first portable test signal generator. Not only did this invention fuel the company's launch, but it also earned MultiDyne its first Emmy Award and established a philosophy that endures to this day: identifying real-world challenges and designing accurate solutions.
Since then, MultiDyne has evolved from a small, family-owned business to a globally recognized provider of fiber optic transportation, signal processing, and live production solutions. Throughout its history, the company has achieved significant milestones, including two Emmy Awards for technology innovation, strategic acquisitions, and remarkable international growth with the opening of its European office in 2023.
"Our story is about more than longevity – it's about evolution," said Frank Jachetta, CEO of MultiDyne. "From the beginning, our philosophy has been based on identifying problems and solving them. This mindset has taken us from our beginnings as a startup in a basement to where we are today, and continues to guide our future."
MultiDyne's second Emmy Award, given to its SilverBack system, highlighted the company's ability to radically transform the production of television and video content in venues, religious centers and other spaces by integrating motion picture cameras into broadcast workflows. Across its product portfolio, from fiber optic transport systems and signal conversion to audio monitoring, the company has consistently focused on meeting critical industry needs.
In recent years, MultiDyne has experienced its period of greatest growth, achieving record performance and expanding its operational infrastructure, engineering resources and product portfolio. This momentum has been driven by the growing demand in live production environments, spanning the broadcast, digital cinema and professional audiovisual markets.
The company's expansion beyond North America has been a key factor in this success. With an established European office in Poland and a growing global network of partners, MultiDyne has strengthened its ability to support customers worldwide. Now, the company has its sights set on Asia-Pacific as its next major growth region.
"It's no coincidence that companies perform at their best in their own environment," Jachetta said. "As we expand globally, we create new markets. We are developing local presence, support and relationships in regions such as Europe and Asia to better serve our customers."
Looking ahead, MultiDyne is focused on expanding its role in the ever-evolving media technology ecosystem. While maintaining its leadership in fiber optic transportation, the company is investing in related areas, such as IP-based workflows, video compression, cloud integration, and software-based solutions. This ever-increasing reach extends its core mission: to transport high-quality video to any destination.
At the same time, MultiDyne continues to expand into adjacent markets, such as professional AV and live production for enterprises, where the demand for reliable, high-performance signal monitoring and transport solutions is growing rapidly.
"As the industry evolves, so do we," added Jachetta. "We continue to solve the same fundamental challenge: transporting video from point A to point B, but now we do it across more platforms, more markets, and more regions than ever before."
