Colombia. The Abre Cámara 2026 call was officially launched, one of the main strategies of the Colombian Government to strengthen public television and promote Colombian audiovisual production.
This year, the program will provide resources for $15,300 million, destined to the financing of 65 incentives for the development of audiovisual content in the script, pre-production, production and post-production stages
"We invite the country's audiovisual industry to review the conditions of Abre Cámara for this year, so that they can have their proposal ready on March 6, when we will open registrations. We want to continue strengthening this sector, and that is why this year we have allocated $15,300 million in resources so that these productions, designed to give a voice to Colombians, continue to reach public television," said the Minister of ICT, Carina Murcia.
In this seventh edition, the call has several novelties. One of them is the implementation of a single registration stage, in which participants must submit all the administrative documents and the creative proposal from the beginning of the process. Likewise, the stimuli had an increase of 5.1%, corresponding to the CPI of 2025.
This stage opens on March 6, and the platform for the reception of proposals will close as follows:
Categories 1 & 2: April 8, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
Categories 3, 4, 5, and 6: April 9, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
The resources will be distributed in six categories: national audiovisual industry, regional MSMEs, indigenous communities, black, Afro-Colombian, Raizal and Palenquera communities, local non-profit operators and community television service operators. With this differential and territorial approach, Abre Cámara reaffirms its commitment to cultural diversity and the representation of the territories.
Abre Cámara 2026 demonstrates the work of the ICT Ministry to consolidate a solid, diverse and representative public television. The productions resulting from this call will leave content that reflects the histories, identities and transformations of the country.
