Colombia. FD Studios announced the arrival of Gabo Kerlegand as Chief Operations Officer (COO) of EFD Studios Digital. From this role, he will be responsible for coordinating, optimizing and strengthening the operational and technical processes of the organization, driving excellence, innovation and efficiency in all the post-production services it offers in the regions of Mexico, Spain and Colombia.
Kerlemand's arrival is in line with the company's expansion and technological evolution plan, which continues to consolidate its leadership in infrastructure, 360 services and technologies applied to audiovisual production and post-production.
With more than thirty years of international experience, Gabo Kerlegand has built a multidisciplinary career that encompasses 3D animation, visual effects, color management and post-production direction. He has collaborated in Latin America, the United States, Europe and Asia, working with key technology companies such as Alias Research, Silicon Graphics, Discreet Logic, Assimilate and Colorfront, as well as camera manufacturers such as Sony, RED Digital Cinema and ARRI.
He has participated in hundreds of commercials and has been a speaker and instructor in international forums such as Filmart Hong Kong, Broadcast Asia, Broadcast India and NAB, in addition to teaching specialized courses and workshops at EICTV Cuba and other institutions in the region. He also has more than 25 years of experience in stereoscopic systems, an area in which his nomination for the Ariel Award for the visual effects of Colosio (2012) stands out.
In recent years, Kerlegand has been a Sony PSLA Associate Technical Instructor, RED Digital Cinema, and Certified Colorfront Specialist, as well as developing workflows for HBO Latin America and serving as Technical Director at Cinematic Media MX, where he collaborated with productions for Netflix, Amazon, Telemundo, and Viacom, and supported the regional implementation of 4K HDR delivery standards for Disney LatAm.
For the past four years, he acted as Mr. Post Production Executive for International Originals Movies at Amazon MGM Studios, leading the post-production strategy for Latin America on projects in Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Uruguay. Among them are Argentina, 1985, nominated for the Oscar for Best International Film, and Belén (2025), also selected to compete in that category.
