Chile. AEQ has supplied its XPEAK intercom system and the new Xplorer Max wireless beltpack to the Chilean company Río Negro Televisión, which has renewed the communications system of one of its mobile units with the support of Ultracanal, AEQ's official distributor in Chile.
Río Negro Televisión is a content generation company founded in 2001 with a strong journalistic and technological character. It has evolved from a fixed studio operation to agile production with mobile units capable of covering different scenarios.
In this line of growth and modernisation, the bank has taken a new step with the renewal of its intercom system, relying on AEQ technology to continue improving the quality and efficiency of its productions both in the studio and outdoors.
The installation incorporates AEQ's XPEAK system, a compact and flexible solution that allows professional communication without the need for a central matrix.
The installed system includes various intercom panels, wireless terminals and accessories of the XPEAK system, complete with antennas, interfaces and the connection and power elements that guarantee optimal operation.
Among the equipment, the new AEQ Xplorer MAX wireless beltpack stands out, which offers great autonomy, high-quality audio and extended coverage thanks to its IP connectivity. Xplorer MAX provides complete freedom of movement for technical and production staff, making it ideal for dynamic work environments such as mobile units or sets with a large operating area. Xplorer MAX can work in coverage areas of up to 700m in a straight line with up to 20 flasks working on a single antenna. There is the option of expanding the work area by interconnecting up to 4 antennas in the same network.
One of the main reasons for this upgrade was the need for a modern, easy-to-deploy system that offered both wired and wireless solutions. The choice of XPEAK and Xplorer MAX allowed the broadcaster to optimize its daily operations, improve the flexibility of outdoor work and facilitate the interconnection between cameras and control units.
About the experience with the new system, Elías Figueroa, Director of the technical area and operations of Río Negro Televisión, comments: "At Río Negro Television, we needed to renew the communications system of one of our mobile units and we found in AEQ and its XPEAK system what we were looking for: technology and rapid implementation without the need for a matrix."
He added that "Being a plug and play system facilitated a quick transition and operational flexibility. We have rackable panels, desktop panels, wired beltpacks and also the Xplorer Max wireless system, which allows us a lot of mobility and cover large spaces without having to use cables. In addition, the XPEAK_IF interface and its 4W outputs is a great complement to link us with the camera CCUs."
The installation was completed with the commercial visit of the staff, Luis Miguel Sánchez-Migallón and Bernardo Saiz, who travelled to the client's facilities to offer support and personalised monitoring of the project.
AEQ thanked Ultracanal for its collaboration, with Hamlet Villarroel at the helm, for its work as a local integrator in this installation.
