Colombia. The Communications Regulatory Commission, CRC, launched DaTIC, a tool that facilitates the consultation and analysis of information on the behavior of fixed and mobile internet services, fixed and mobile telephony, and subscription television in Colombia.
It is a new visualization tool of the open data platform Postdata, in which users will be able to access data from fixed and mobile telecommunications services in Colombia and where they will be able to explore how these services have evolved over time, as well as make comparisons between regions and technologies.
Its simple and dynamic design seeks to promote transparency, citizen access to information and informed decision-making in the telecommunications sector.
What information does DaTIC offer?
- Data on revenue, access, traffic and coverage of fixed and mobile services.
- Indicators such as traffic revenue, access revenue, and access traffic.
- Information on infrastructure and deployment of mobile networks.
- Visualization through graphs, tables and heat maps.
The tool has dynamic filters that allow you to adjust the query according to the user's interest: from the national level to a specific municipality, by operator, by type of technology and more.
"DaTIC is part of the CRC's open data strategy, which through the Postdata portal has already made available more than 228 datasets, 38 dashboards, 123 Data Flashes and 65 sectoral reports. With this new interactive tool, we continue to strengthen the usability of information, especially for the non-specialized public, and we reaffirm our commitment to transparency and access to quality data that facilitate the analysis and understanding of the sector for authorities, operators, researchers, and citizens in general," said Claudia Ximena Bustamante, Commissioner and Executive Director of the CRC.
