Latin America. Blackmagic Design today announced DaVinci Resolve version 20.2 and Blackmagic Camera version 9.8 beta, which provide support for Apple ProRes RAW formats, including recordings captured on the new iPhone 17 Pro, as well as ProRes RAW HQ formats.
In addition, updates that will be available later for the Blackmagic Camera app, as well as Blackmagic Video Assist 12G monitors and recorders, will also provide support for those formats.
DaVinci Resolve 20.2 and version 9.8 beta of the Blackmagic Camera app can be downloaded for free from the Blackmagic Design website.
"By incorporating ProRes RAW formats into our recording and playback devices, as well as professional editing software, we reaffirm our commitment to updating the operating systems of existing products," said Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design.
He added, "Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K users have always been able to use compressed ProRes 422 formats, but now they will also be able to record ProRes RAW files and play them directly in DaVinci Resolve. We are very excited to provide a free update once again."
