Argentina. For three days, Córdoba hosted the APAC Colloquium 2025 – FIPCA International Mission, which brought together producers from Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia and Spain in a strategic agenda of professional exchange, regional cooperation and linkage with the local productive framework.
The visit of the international delegation made it possible to consolidate links between the audiovisual ecosystem of Cordoba and global benchmarks, while bringing to the fore the impact of this activity in terms of job creation, investment, exports and productive chains.
Organized by the Association of Audiovisual Producers of Córdoba (APAC) and the Ibero-American Federation of Film and Audiovisual Producers (FIPCA), together with the Industrial Union of Cordoba, and with the support of ProCórdoba, ADEC, the Córdoba Audiovisual Pole and the Chamber of Foreign Trade, the meeting had a clear objective: to consolidate Córdoba as a strategic place for audiovisual production in Ibero-America.
A sector that grows, exports and generates employment
According to the Report of the Córdoba Audiovisual Observatory "Paola Suárez", 75% of Córdoba production companies emerged between 2010 and 2022, in a context of sustained growth driven by active public policies. 70% exports services abroad, and 55% of the content produced in Córdoba reaches international distribution.
These companies – 8 out of 10 are small with high specialization – offer diversified services that include fiction, documentary, animation, and content for networks and interactive media. 90% combine artistic production with institutional services, and 6 out of 10 already integrate sustainable practices.
Multiplier effect in other industries
A joint study by the IDB and Netflix confirms that for every 10 million pesos invested in the Argentine audiovisual industry, 19 million are generated in related sectors such as tourism, logistics, technology, education, gastronomy and design.
Vanessa Ragone, producer of The Secret in Their Eyes and one of the international guests at the Colloquium, summed it up clearly: "The data show that we are not just talking about culture: we are talking about employment, development and real economic potential."
More than 70 Cordoba production companies on a high-impact agenda
Córdoba was presented to the mission as a place with strong audiovisual development: more than 150 titles produced in the last decade, many of them selected at festivals such as Cannes, Berlinale, San Sebastián, Rotterdam, and internationally awarded. The province is also the origin of formats exported to different continents and languages such as La Chica Que Limpia.
Ignacio Rey (Leyenda Films – President of FIPCA): "I am amazed with the quantity and professionalism of the projects from Cordoba that I saw, and with the international potential with which they are being thought of."
Predictability, incentives and regional cooperation
During the event, Governor Martín Llaryora announced the continuity of the cash rebate program with two annual calls guaranteed until 2027: "We want to give predictability to the audiovisual industry in Cordoba. This activity generates resources, attracts investment and creates employment."
During the opening of the event, the renowned Argentine producer Vanessa Ragone (winner of the Oscar for The Secret in Their Eyes and reference of Atrapados, The Photographer and the Postman) synthesized the economic impact of the audiovisual:
A study by the IDB and Netflix confirms that for every $10 million invested in Argentine audiovisuals, $19 million is generated in related sectors, such as tourism, gastronomy, technology, logistics and design.
"The data show that we are not just talking about culture: we are talking about employment, development and real economic potential."
The international delegation was received by provincial and municipal authorities, toured strategic locations and held meetings with the Industrial Union of Cordoba, the Chamber of Foreign Trade, Cordoba Acelera and the clusters of creative and technological industries.
"One of the central objectives of this Colloquium is to make the audiovisual visible as part of the industrial fabric of Cordoba, connect it with other productive sectors and open concrete opportunities for its internationalization," concluded Mariano Joaquín García, director of the APAC Colloquium.
