International. In Deqing, China, Absen and Versatile Media Ltd have unveiled a project that is marking a turning point in the film industry: the world's largest virtual production studio with an LED screen.
This is the third time the two companies have worked together, and with each collaboration they have taken the technology a step further. What started with a 150 million pixel screen grew to 300 million, and now reaches 600 million pixels, a figure never before seen in this type of study.
An immersive space designed for cinema
The studio features a massive 270-degree curved screen, measuring 50 meters in diameter and 12 meters high. It is designed to offer an immersive environment, where everything you see fits perfectly with the cameras, achieving a realistic and high-quality visual experience.
Thanks to this technology, production teams can record scenes without having to travel to real locations, saving time, costs, and allowing for greater creative control. In addition, landscapes, climates, and environments can be simulated with impressive accuracy.
