Alfalite launches LED ceiling panel for virtual productions

Alfalite lanza panel LED de techo para producciones virtuales

Latin America. Alfalite presents SKYPIX RGBW & IM, its new series of LED ceiling panels specially designed for virtual production environments (VP XR).

The new solution brings unprecedented functionality to the industry: it combines RGB video playback with a white LED lighting channel, offering a more natural, coherent and adjustable scene directly from the ceiling of the volume.

With a pixel pitch of 3.9 mm, an RGB brightness of up to 9,000 nits and a refresh rate of 7,680 Hz, SKYPIX provides precise light control thanks to its color temperature set to 3,200 - 6,504ºK and a TM-30Ra color rendering index of 90. In addition, its average consumption of 35W and maximum of 90W make it an energy-efficient solution for studios that require long hours of recording.

One of the distinctive elements of SKYPIX is the incorporation of the Invisible Marker IM system, an additional component that replaces the traditional physical marks used in tracking systems. This technology, based on an invisible virtual sticker, is compatible with the tracking systems on the market, working with total precision and synchronization. The system allows you to configure parameterizable IM constellations that integrate metadata directly into the filming.

The lighting control has also been optimised with a specific application that allows the colour and intensity of the panels to be managed in real time, either by area or by pixel, with presets configurable according to the needs of the shoot.

"With SKYPIX we take a step further in the integration between image and light within virtual production volumes," explained Luis Garrido, CEO of Alfalite. "We've listened to studios and lighting technicians to create a panel that not only projects content, but also illuminates and communicates with the rest of the production system, while avoiding the maintenance and desynchronization issues of traditional stickers. We are once again surprising the market with a cutting-edge solution never seen before for the film, series, advertising and broadcast sector. It is a tool designed so that creators can focus on the narrative without sacrificing technical precision".

The SKYPIX series is aimed at film, television, advertising, events and broadcasting productions that use VP XR environments, and reinforces Alfalite's commitment to offering specific solutions for this growing segment.
