Argentina. The 4th Edition of VHL Media Connect brought together industry leaders to analyze the challenges and opportunities presented by the media and broadcast market.
The event was opened by Alberto Larraburu, Media & Home BU Manager of BVS, who also highlighted "we have more than 20 years of experience and we always work together with our clients to boost their growth with innovative solutions and a comprehensive vision that accompanies the evolution of the sector".
Pablo Faulín, EU Broadcast Manager, was present with Larraburu and emphasized that "the initiative is designed as a space to share trends, solutions, innovation and respond to the current needs of an industry in constant evolution".
For his part, Jorge Raffetto, TSR of Dell Technologies, opened the technical panel and highlighted the disruptive role of generative artificial intelligence in the entertainment industry. From Dell, he emphasized how these technologies that are present in the new processors and that today already work with more than 46 TOPS (trillions operations per second), accelerate creative processes, automate workflows and enable new forms of content production. He pointed out that AI is no longer a future promise, but a present tool that redefines the competitiveness of the audiovisual sector.
In his presentation, Thadeu Coelho, Sales Director South Latam at Synamedia, delved into the quality control strategies applied to video compression, and emphasized the operational efficiency that this represents. He showed how Synamedia allows its customers to reduce bandwidth consumption without compromising the viewing experience, thanks to algorithms that dynamically adjust the video bitrate according to the complexity of the content, which directly impacts the costs associated with the use of CDNs.
Rodrigo Jerez, Regional Sales Manager Latin America at Evertz, addressed the evolution of broadcast infrastructures towards IP environments, and focused on the operational simplification offered by intelligent orchestration. He explained how Evertz's solutions allow the integration of traditional and new devices with a logic of auto-discovery and unified control, which facilitates the efficient management of flows in real time and reduces the technological complexity of hybrid environments.
In turn, Juan Granatta, Business Developer Manager of BVS Security, gave a presentation on the growing cybersecurity risks in the Media world. Through real examples of attacks suffered by companies in the sector, he stressed the importance of recognizing vulnerabilities, protecting critical assets such as unpublished content and credentials, and adopting a culture of prevention from the user to the infrastructure, to position security as the strategic axis of the business.
Alberto Lindiman, Sales Manager of SiMedia, explained how his platform allows a profound transformation in the audiovisual production chain, from ingestion to broadcast. He highlighted functions such as content management through virtual routes, automation of rundowns for news and linear programming, and the application of artificial intelligence for facial recognition, semantic analysis and advanced categorization and how it optimizes workflows, reduces duplication and offers agile tools to channels and production companies of all sizes and realities.
Leonardo Rombola, Sales Manager and BDM Latam at Harmonic, presented the solutions available to face the challenges of modern streaming, especially in hybrid architectures and based on pure software that allow operational efficiency and effective monetization. He spoke about the integration of artificial intelligence to adapt experiences, insert advertising in real time and optimize costs, all in a dynamic environment that allows scaling according to audience and business demand.
