Colombia. The Communications Regulatory Commission, CRC, published a new report that analyzes the Petitions, Complaints, Claims and Requests (PQRS) related to the open television service in Colombia, corresponding to the second quarter of 2024.
The study provides detailed information disaggregated by type of channel: national public, national private, regional and local.
According to the Data Flash prepared by the Commission based on the information reported by the concessionaires and licensees of the open television service, during the first half of 2024, a total of 23,581 PQRs were received, which shows an increase of 319.4% compared to the second half of 2023.
Of the total number of PQRs, 80.4% correspond to complaints and claims, followed by requests (12.6%) and petitions (2.4%), with the national private channels receiving the highest number of PQRs with a higher monthly average in complaints or claims (1,043), requests (146) and "Others" (48.3), while national public channels led in requests with a monthly average of 35.
Programming was the main theme of the PQRs (88.4%), followed by "others" (9.5%) and information pluralism (1.5%), with the program "La Casa de los Famosos" being the one that concentrated 34.7% of the PQRs, of which 95% corresponded to complaints or claims.
93.6% of the PQRS were received through websites, while other mechanisms accounted for 3.94% and telephone lines for 2.12%.
"This analysis is the result of the monitoring carried out by the Commission that allows us to know the behavior and perception that audiences have, as an input to continue strengthening the regulation of the sector, with the aim of guaranteeing an offer of quality television content that responds to expectations and protects the rights of viewers in Colombia," explained Sadi Contreras Fuset.
