Being dynamic in order to evolve and grow is the way to survive

Argentina. With 39 years in the industry, SVC has been a protagonist in the development and evolution of the broadcast industry in Argentina. TVyVideo+Radio spoke with Domingo Simonetta, director of the company, who shared his reflections on the industry in recent years.

"The market in this industry has been constantly evolving following the advancement of technology that allows for expanded services and greater cost efficiency. In the span of a few years the changes have been enormous and we have had the opportunity to experience them stage by stage. Obviously, digital technology and its convergence with computing have contributed to making it possible," he said.

In this relationship between the end user and the technology, there is always the discussion between the adoption of new developments and brands. In this regard, from his experience he has been able to observe that in technology there is always an eagerness for new solutions, but when it comes to implementing them, established companies have the preference of customers, mainly because of the reliability they represent.

He stressed that "It all depends on the application that is required in each case, from centralized storage systems, files or MAMs. The demand for discrete products, which at the time was by far the most important, today only occupies the secondary segment, mainly in the production of live exteriors. Within the facilities, we find huge networks that must efficiently move an incredible amount of data. It is unthinkable to talk about isolated networks without interconnection between them."

And in this panorama, fairs take on great importance. In this case, for Domingo Simonetta, NAB Show 2024 "apart from being an important meeting point for manufacturers and customers, the objective is to obtain first-hand information about the advances in the industry and how to adapt them to each market. It's the material we need to know where we can approach our evolution for the future."

Finally, regarding the expectations he has for this year in his market, he pointed out that "We have been in the market since 1985, and the objective is always to be dynamic in order to evolve and grow, which is the only way to be able to survive in this environment. We are working on several IT projects at the same time, which we hope to be able to close this year and which we could announce as it becomes a reality. All this despite the constant economic crisis that we are experiencing in Argentina, but the expectations are good. The industry doesn't stand still and there's always a way to adapt to economic difficulties."
