NAB Show. For the second year at the NAB Show, NAB Show will host the Sustainability Excellence Awards. These awards will celebrate outstanding achievements in technology and media production, recognising contributions that demonstrate significant sustainable impact, as well as foster economic and social development.
The Sustainability Excellence Awards will include the following categories, including several that will be new in 2024:
- The Sustainability Champion Award: Honors an individual who drives sustainability efforts and programs.
- The Sustainability Leadership Award: Honors an organization that has launched or completed sustainability initiatives.
- The Sustainability Product or Service Award: honors products or services that significantly improve sustainability or provide a market alternative.
- NEW: Emerging Talent in Sustainability Award, which honors young talent who are innovating and delivering on sustainability efforts and programs.
- NEW: Green Production Practices Award: Honors productions that prioritize sustainable practices.
- NEW: Sustainable Storytelling Award: honoring productions with a story of sustainability.
- NEW: Social and Community Impact Award: honoring an organization that makes social responsibility efforts that benefit the local community, employees, and/or stakeholders.
The products/services should be available in 2024. Nominees do not need to be NAB Show exhibitors to participate. The deadline for submission of entries is March 22, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.
"With mandatory reporting requirements in California and those already in place in Europe, sustainability actions are quickly becoming part of normal operations. We are thrilled to be able to highlight those organizations and individuals who are leading the way," said Barbara Lange, CEO of Kibo121 and program director of these awards.
NAB Show will accept nominations from companies and individuals working in the media production and/or technology industries according to the category description and criteria. Judged by an independent panel of experts, award winners will be chosen in each category based on the criteria defined for each category.
The NAB Show Awards for Excellence in Sustainability will be presented during a special ceremony on the main stage of the NAB Show on April 14, 2024, in Las Vegas. The awards ceremony will include a panel discussion, as well as a NAB Show and a presentation of AWS donations to a charity.
The awards program is supported by AWS, a global leader in cloud-based services in the media technology industry. AWS is also known for its commitment to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.
