Peru. In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of people acquiring drones to capture photos and videos. For this reason, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC, through the Directorate of Civil Aeronautics, DGAC, reported the three requirements to operate them in Peru, according to the Complementary Technical Standard (NTC 001-2015).
Requirements
1. Registration: request a registration card at the MTC's Directorate of Certifications and Authorizations, presenting Appendix A with the technical information of the drone and your data. The DGAC will resolve the request within a maximum of 30 working days. This procedure is carried out virtually at http://www.mpv.mtc.gob.pe or at the regional Citizen Service Centres.
2. Accreditation: the DGAC will authorize you as a drone operator, after being trained and certified by an accredited Civil Aeronautics Training Center. In addition, a theoretical/practical evaluation carried out by the Technical Coordination of Aeronautical Licenses of the MTC must be approved.
3. Overflight permit: It can be operated in rural areas following the operating limitations of NTC 001-2015. To operate in urban areas, a permit is requested from the DGAC, complying with the requirements of the aforementioned regulation.
All the necessary procedures for these permits are free of charge.
Operating a drone without registration, or without being an accredited pilot, in urban areas or near airfields or airports, is in violation of the law. The local authority may request accreditation, registration, and authorization, and failure to do so may result in the seizure of the aircraft by the PNP.
