Latin America. With many years in the audiovisual market of the region, Víctor Dupret began in the industry working in the company Ríos y Compañía, the well-known distributor in Chile, as PreSales Engineer, where he was responsible for demonstrating and training equipment of recognized brands such as Panasonic, NewTek, JVC, Datavideo, Grass Valley, among others.
Thanks to the success obtained in sales, Dupret had the opportunity to join NewTek as Regional Sales Manager of the Southern Cone, in charge of managing the manufacturer's sales and promoting the company's products in the region.
Within NewTek he later assumed the position of Sales Engineer for Latam, with the aim of supporting the adoption of the NDI protocol, and already in this new role, he became an evangelist of the NDI protocol, carrying out projects, demonstrations and training throughout Latin America to promote its use and benefits in the industry.
In 2020, and due to the pandemic and with the desire to be closer to his family, Dupret decided to take over as Technical Director in the company Stream360, a company specialized in the transmission of live corporate events in Chile.

Throughout his career, Dupret acquired extensive knowledge in equipment and technologies in the industry, as well as experience in sales, training and projects in the Latin American market, and with this important experience he now comes to Merlin Distributor with the challenge of continuing to expand the Canon brand throughout the continent. Here we interview Canon's new specialist for Latin America.
"As Latam Account Manager - Canon Specialist at Merlin Distributor, I will play a multifaceted and strategic role of great relevance. My main responsibility will be to strengthen the strong relationship between Merlin Distributor and Canon, one of our key partners in the industry. I will work closely with the Canon team to understand their business goals and objectives," said Victor Dupret.
On his vision of the industry today, he noted that "The industry in Latin America is undergoing an exciting and dynamic transformation. Currently, the demand for high-quality, diversified content is at an all-time high, driven by a more demanding audience and ever-expanding distribution platforms. In the region, we have witnessed an increase in the production of local content, ranging from movies, series, sporting events and musicals. This phenomenon has contributed to a greater diversification of the stories and voices represented on screen."
He concluded that "Streaming and VOD platforms, both global and local, have experienced explosive growth, bringing with it a constant demand for original, high-quality content. Technology is also playing a pivotal role, with the adoption of 4K and 8K resolutions, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and more. Diversity and authentic representation have become essential, and regional collaboration is driving joint projects. Despite these advances, there are still challenges, such as the need for higher internet speeds throughout the region, which is critical to ensuring a smooth, high-quality streaming experience."
