Ecuador. Telecuador announced that it expands its product portfolio by incorporating a new brand: Blackmagic Design. Carlos Guevara, General Manager of the Ecuadorian company, detailed the expectations of the company, its commercial strategy for the brand and the type of projects they will target in the local market.
How did the possibility of assuming the representation of Blackmagic in the country arise for Telecuador?
Carlos Guevara: One of Telecuador's objectives for NAB2023 was to expand the product portfolio to offer our customers, especially in areas where we did not have products from brands we represent, such as video switches with less than 24 inputs, converters, video recorders, among others, and in this search we arrived at Blackmagic that has these equipment and many more such as monitors and video routers.
What expectations do you have and what commercial strategy will Telecuador develop for the expansion of the brand?
Carlos Guevara: We are convinced that a demonstration is worth more than we can tell about what a product does. For this, we are importing demo equipment to be able to reach customers with the equipment in hand and play with it, test the quality, versatility and functions of the equipment. Likewise, we will have stock to be able to deliver the equipment in the shortest possible time. We hope, with the inclusion of Blackmagic to our product portfolio, to expand our universe of customers and at the same time offer this new line of products to our current customers.
On which profile of potential clients will you focus your actions?
Carlos Guevara: I think we have business opportunities with clients such as regional channels, universities, public sector entities, in addition to Telecuador's current clients.
What kind of Telecuador projects could Blackmagic technology contribute to?
Carlos Guevara: The wide range of products that Blackmagic offers, allows us to apply in a range of projects, with solutions ranging from switches for streaming, monitoring, to complete systems for auditoriums, churches or regional channels.
What new business possibilities can be opened for Telecuador by the hand of BMD?
Carlos Guevara: There are customers that we have not been able to reach for two reasons, first due to lack of equipment in the Telecuador portfolio, which allow us to meet the needs of these customers and second because the equivalent products in other brands have a very high price for customers with a tight budget. Now we can reach these customers with quality product offerings and fit the required budget.
