Globo migrates to the cloud with Grass Valley

globo grass valley

Brazil. Grass Valley reached a multi-year partnership with Brazilian media organization Globo to migrate its media production and live broadcast operation for small and medium-sized events to the cloud, supporting Globo's efforts in the digital transformation of its business.

Globo will have AMPP (Agile Media Processing Platform) from Grass Valley, the platform that allows you to implement advanced media operations in the cloud, to modernize and increase your content creation capacity without being tied to expensive hardware investment cycles. AMPP offers Globo a pay-as-you-go OpEx model that eliminates certain operating expenses.

"Grass Valley has been a partner of Globo for years and has helped modernize the broadcaster's infrastructure and systems, including IP migrations, and is now an important partner for our migration to the cloud," said Mauricio Felix, Globo's Chief Technology Officer. "It's been a journey of learning and collaboration between Globo and Grass Valley, and our migration to the cloud is the cornerstone of our transformation, as it not only gives us cost savings, but above all greater agility to scale up our content production at a considerably larger scale."

"As major media companies like Globo transform their operations, they need partners who can support them in their transition to the cloud. Grass Valley is perfectly positioned to enable this growth," said Tim Banks, chief revenue officer for Grass Valley. "As Brazil's largest media group, Globo and its approach to innovation combined with Grass Valley's world-leading cloud solutions and broad product portfolio is a perfect match.
