Latin America. Four new Ultimatte 12 models were introduced by Blackmagic Design, a line of real-time composers designed to create state-of-the-art professional graphics. In addition, it launched the Ultimatte Software Control program.
Although the new Ultimatte 12 models are more accessible, they offer the same exceptional edge processing, greater color separation, extraordinary chromatic fidelity and better overrun elimination. The Ultimatte 12 HD, Ultimatte 12 4K and Ultimatte 12 8K models allow users to make compositions in the television format they usually use.
In addition to the three models mentioned, the Ultimatte 12 HD Mini version includes HDMI connections and only costs $495. This device is specifically designed to allow those who use ATEM Mini mixers to reap the same benefits from professional compositions when creating innovative virtual sets with fixed cameras. Also, all models have internal memory, so it is possible to develop compositions with still images as backgrounds, without having to invest in external equipment. All this can be carried out from the composer himself.
Despite their cheaper price, all devices in this line, including the Ultimatte 12 HD Mini model, offer the same state-of-the-art algorithms for processing images and a vast chromatic space. Thanks to this, the quality of the compositions will not vary between the different units. These generate internal masks automatically, in order to process different parts of the image individually, according to the colors present in each of the areas.
In turn, it is possible to adjust subtle details of the edges in the areas where it is most needed, for example, around the hair, as well as attenuate the transition from one color to another in the objects present in the scene. The mathematical processing of each subpixel allows for unparalleled quality and clarity.
All Ultimatte 12 models include the Ultimatte Software Control program for Mac and Windows. Its main window presents different sections with menus for different functions. Although the interface can be overwhelming at first, given the large number of buttons and settings, it is possible to learn to switch between them quickly as the composition is created.
