Blackmagic announced the new Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2

camara blackmagic

Latin America. Blackmagic Design today announced the launch of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 model, a next-generation version of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K model.

This unit has an adjustable touch screen that facilitates the framing of the shots. In turn, it includes a larger capacity battery to shoot for longer without the need to charge or replace it, and compatibility with optional viewfinders. The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 features the latest Blackmagic colorimetry in its fifth generation and retains features from the previous model, such as the popular Super 35 HDR cinematic sensor with a dynamic range of 13 stops, the dual native ISO value and the EF lens mount.

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 version is now available at a price of $1995 from all distributors of Blackmagic Design products.

The sleek design of these models features the same features of high-end digital cinema cameras in a compact and portable size. Made from a polycarbonate and carbon fiber composite, they have a multifunction grip with all the necessary controls to record and adjust the ISO value, white balance and shutter angle. The sensor structure reduces thermal noise for sharper shadows and higher sensitivity, while the 5-inch display allows for ideal focus at 4K or 6K resolution.

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 features a 6144 x 3456 Super 35 sensor and an EF mount that makes it easy to use larger photo lenses to capture cinema-quality images with a shallower depth of field. This allows you to generate backgrounds with creative blurs and amazing "bokeh" effects.

Blackmagic's advanced operating system includes cutting-edge technology and is very intuitive and easy to use. To configure settings, add metadata or view the status of the recording, simply tap or swipe on the touch screen. In addition, it provides access to advanced camera features such as tools for on-screen focus and exposure, 3D conversion tables, wide dynamic range, metadata, timecode, and Blackmagic RAW.

Regardless of whether shooting in broad daylight or low-light conditions, the 13-stop dynamic range and maximum dual native ISO value of 25,600 allow you to capture extraordinary images with a very low noise level in various lighting conditions. In addition, the 6K versions feature a larger Super 35 sensor that allows recording with a greater depth of field and anamorphic lenses. All models offer the possibility of rolling at a frequency of up to 60 f/s or 120 f/s by reducing the usable area of the sensor. Blackmagic's extraordinary sensor and colorimetry offer the same technology as most of the more expensive cinematic cameras.

The products of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera line feature a 5-inch touch screen that allows you to frame shots and focus with great precision. The data superimposed on the image shows the status of the unit, a histogram, focus indicators, vúmeters, framing guides and play buttons, among others. The screen of the 6K G2 version is more advanced and can be tilted up or down, for the purpose of monitoring shots from any angle.

This version adopts the same fifth-generation colorimetry of the URSA Mini Pro 12K model, thus offering higher image quality with incredible highly precise skin tones and authentic colors in every shot. It also includes an innovative 12-bit dynamic tonal response curve, designed to capture more information in the light and dark areas of the image. In addition, a complex processing of the images is carried out in Blackmagic RAW format, preserving the metadata related to the color and dynamic range information captured by the sensor, in order to use them in the post-production stage.

All Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera models include DaVinci Resolve Studio, the same program used in Hollywood to create feature films, television series and high-end commercials. It offers the innovative Mount module, with intelligent editing options and state-of-the-art features designed to help process recorded material quickly. In addition, it offers editing, color grading, audio post-production and visual effects tools in a single application.
