Colombia. In the development of prevention activities for the ICT sector programmed by the Directorate of Surveillance, Inspection and Control of the Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies, the entity carried out a new training. This time, the session was aimed at the concessionaires of the country's commercial broadcasters.
The space, called Generalities of the obligations in charge of the providers of the Commercial Sound Broadcasting service, was transmitted through the social networks of the MinTIC, and had the special participation of the National Spectrum Agency (ANE), which exposed the management, categories and benefits of the 'Spectrum Viewer', a technological tool that allows to know the allocation of the spectrum for the microwave links and the FM and AM sound broadcasting service; as well as carrying out the analysis of coverage and interference in the Colombian territory.
In the same way, the ANE announced the details of the new Technical Plan for Sound Broadcasting in FM, which as it explained, modernizes the technical framework for the optimal management, planning and administration of the radio spectrum attributed to the FM sound broadcasting service.
"The new National Technical Plan for FM Sound Broadcasting will respect and preserve the essential technical parameters authorized for each assigned sound broadcasting station, such as the frequency of operation, the operating power, the location of the transmission system, height of the radiation center and therefore its coverage," the entity said.
For its part, the team of the Internal Working Group on Promotion and Prevention of MinTIC emphasized the importance of compliance with the obligations of the concessionaires of Sound Broadcasting, among them, to present the peace and except for the payment of copyright, to make on time the payment to the MinTIC of the consideration for the use of the spectrum, report the information contained in Resolution 175 of 2021 through the Colombia TIC system- through the HECAA upload tool; among others.
In this regard, Adriana del Pilar Tapiero Cáceres, Director of Surveillance, Inspection and Control of MinTIC said: "our management serves the purposes of intervention in the ICT sector so that concessionaires carry out their activities within the framework of legality, implementing behaviors aimed at regulatory compliance, through the understanding and understanding of their obligations."
