BAM announced selected for its ninth edition

Colombia. The Bogotá Audiovisual Market, BAM, announced the projects and contents that will be part of this audiovisual market, considered the most important in Colombia and the second most relevant in Latin America, which will be held from July 9 to 13.

The quality and diversity found in the proposals of the participants were the aspects highlighted by the national and international juries of this platform of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá' and Proimágenes Colombia, with the support of the Cinematographic Development Fund.

Within the framework of the Foco Cultura España Colombia Program, this year the BAM will have an important delegation of Spanish audiovisual professionals who will arrive in Bogotá to explore the Colombian market in order to strengthen cooperation in the field of audiovisual industries.

BAM Talent
According to Paula Zupnik, from Argentina, one of the jurors who is a film content advisor for Latin America, "in the BAM Screenings category this edition of the BAM presents films of great quality in technical terms, in evident growth, and debut films with scripts and stories that surprise, beautiful stories that show an authentic Colombia", both in documentary and fiction."

In this category there will be thirteen films in post-production or finished, which will be screened privately before sales agents and festivals that are interested in making the world aware of the new harvest of Colombian cinema. The Video Library, on the other hand, will have 100 contents of the latest in Colombian audiovisual production, among which 8 feature films, 29 short films, 53 television series and 10 web series stand out, which will be available for viewing by the BAM accredited through the Festival Scope Pro platform between June 11 and October 31, 2018. Additionally, in the BAM Projects category, the market will have 28 film projects and 13 television projects in the advanced stage of development, which will be connected with potential co-producers, funds and television channels. With this, the BAM continues to encourage international co-productions and strengthen the processes of Colombian productions. In the Festival Workshop, organized by the Ministry of Culture of Colombia at the BAM, eight events of this type from different cities in Colombia will participate. They will be joined by six festivals from Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Panama, Peru and Uruguay to be part of a training space for the strengthening of their events, in which the organizers will have the opportunity to reflect together with national and international experts on the challenges they face in the film industry and other aspects related to festivals as distribution windows.

For the BAM Stories category, 12 shortlisted scripts were chosen in the fiction script writing modality of the Call for the Fund for Film Development (FDC) 2016 and / or 2017. Finally, with fiction, animation and documentary projects, 28 young talents will arrive from different parts of the country, including capitals such as Bogotá, Medellín and Cali, and towns such as Bello (Antioquia) and San Gil (Santander), to be part of the Bammers Program. This training space will bring them closer to the dynamics of an international audiovisual market and, in addition, will give them the possibility to participate in exclusive activities of relationship with other actors in the audiovisual industry.
