Latin America. ARRI has introduced the new accessories - modular, lightweight and extremely robust for Sony Venice and Venice 2, which are now available for shipping. Manufactured based on customer feedback and suggestions on the ARRI line of widely adopted accessories for Venice cameras, these new components offer more rigging possibilities and more mounting options.
The four new parts of the Pro Camera ARRI Accessories (PCA) are a base plate, a top stage and two side brackets. They are available individually or in four sets (Basic or Pro Cine Set and Basic or Pro Broadcast Set), and can be combined with each other and with existing Pro Camera ARRI accessories to equip Venice cameras and cover any shooting need.
Like all PCA ARRI sets for equipment from other manufacturers, these new Venice sets offer users the possibility of integrating their cameras into workflows in established sets, based on the ARRI standards for bridge plates, base plates, extension brackets for viewfinder, matte boxes and many other filming tools.
ARRI accessories for Sony Venice and Venice 2 significantly improve the ergonomics of standard base cameras. The spacious and comfortable shoulder adapter offers more than 100 mm of travel, allowing you to balance the handheld camera setups, while the top handle can easily slide back and forth to accommodate the break-even point of devices such as the Easyrig.
The base deck features a miniature built-in receiver that allows users to quickly switch between the BSA-1 Broadcast Shoulder Adapter, the BPA-5 Bridge Stage Adapter, and the SAM-4 Stabilizer Adapter Mount for ARRI CSS devices. Multiple mounted M4 ARRI points with 3/8"-16, 1/4"-20 and 25mm spacing allow attendees to attach accessories in a variety of different positions around the entire camera.
The side brackets now provide more mounting options as well as protection to the camera, while being sufficiently far from the body of the camera to avoid damaging it with the arms of the accessories and other screws.
ARRI Multi-HEX hex screw technology is built into all components. The multi-threaded design of the ARRI Multi-HEX screw means that users can adjust and loosen screws with more than one tool, increasing flexibility and time use in set. Up to four different tools can be used for the adjustment of the ARRI Multi-HEX screw (3 mm, 4 mm, 5 mm and Allen/hexagonal 5/32" wrenches.
The new ARRI PCA sets for Venice and Venice 2 allow rental homes to continue using the ARRI standard accessories that have been the foundation of their camera kits for decades. They work immediately and safely with the entire range of ARRI PCA components, without inconvenience or the need for adjustments to established set practices.
