Colombia. The Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies, MinTIC, through resolution 251 of 2022, declares open the objective selection process number 001 of 2022 whose purpose is the granting of permits for the use of the radio spectrum in the frequency bands HF, VHF, UHF, SHF and EHF, throughout the national territory.
As indicated in the call notice, the process includes the 10 GHz band for multipoint point communications, private broadband and bands for mobile television transmitters, as well as permits for the use of radio spectrum in the following bands:
- Segments allocated to fixed radio services for their operation through point-to-point communication links: - SHF in the range of 3.7 GHz to 23.6 GHz. - EHF in the ranges of 71 GHz to 76 GHz and 81 GHz to 86 GHz.
- Segments allocated to fixed and land mobile radio services for the operation of coverage systems: - HF in the range 3 MHz to 30 MHz. - VHF in the range from 30 MHz to 300 MHz. - UHF in the range from 300 MHz to 3000 MHz.
- Segments allocated to land mobile radio services for operation in mobile television transmitter systems or stations. (Articles 1.6.1 to 1.6.5 of ANE Resolution 105 of 2020): - UHF in the range of 2025 MHz to 2110 MHz.
- Segments allocated to fixed radio services for their operation through point-to-multipoint communication links: - SHF in the 10 GHz band.
- Segments allocated to fixed and land mobile radio services for their operation in private broadband: - UHF in the range of 380 MHz to 398 MHz.
- It is important to highlight that, with the assignment of permits in these bands, network and service providers and interested companies will expand the provision of telecommunications services for the benefit of Colombians, while improving their quality.
