ARRI launched platform for broadcast lighting management

arri, Latin America. ARRI LightNet is a new software platform to offer centralized monitoring, fault detection and management – intelligent, logical and at a glance – of broadcast studio lighting networks from anywhere.

This intelligent and innovative tool allows broadcast centers to optimize the management of their lighting networks on a robust platform. As remote, decentralized and social distancing work becomes increasingly popular and consolidated, ARRI LightNet takes the lead in terms of essential, comprehensive and accessible monitoring of lighting networks and will be offered with all tenders and projects of the ARRI Solutions Group.

Multi-user interface
This pioneering product visualizes and displays all the elements of a lighting network of a broadcast studio -luminaires, consoles, network switches, distributors, nodes, etc.-, allowing to visualize all the relevant data in a single interface in real time. This allows users and technicians to work in harmony in parallel while accessing and managing different aspects of the network.

Easy operation and configuration
New and revolutionary in the world of broadcast and installation technology, ARRI LightNet has been developed as a powerful, visually intuitive and flexible tool to achieve a fluid and efficient operation of contemporary studios with lighting systems both based on IP and DMX control. Its features include a very simple setup with a coherent and easy-to-understand panel that helps maintain the state, security and stability of these lighting systems. All devices on the network will be detected automatically for configuration speed and accuracy, saving time and hassle. Accessibility is key to the design of the system architecture. ARRI LightNet is an essential resource that can be understood and operated by those who are not necessarily lighting specialists.

Separate Front/Rear Inputs
Since ARRI LightNet supports hardware from multiple manufacturers and already established lighting protocols, it can retrofit to existing installations and lighting ecosystems just as easily as is specified for new structures. The centralized/decentralized server infrastructure at the heart of the product offers separate front and rear inputs, allowing for this great flexibility. The system's central rear input offers redundancy and works on any high-performance computer including virtual servers, which can be located anywhere and connected to the network. At the same time, the front input can be accessed via a range of ready-made standard tools such as tablets and laptops.

Attractive graphical interface
Other features of the front input include an attractive graphical interface with a clear and accurate overview of all status monitoring data, as well as quick and easy identification, location and rectification of faults or technical problems. The interface can also be consulted for all useful information needed for day-to-day operation, such as IP and DMX addressing of devices or the ways in which they are configured, etc., and devices can be grouped by environments to structure them according to individual needs.

Accessible from anywhere
ARRI LightNet is widely adaptable to all environments. The user interface can work simultaneously on several client devices (the aforementioned tablets, laptops), which can be located locally in the studio or in production control rooms or even much further away, even inside or outside the studio complex via a VPN (virtual private network) connection. This dual local/remote access from anywhere helps maximize the efficiency of technicians working in busy studio environments where time and technology are always of the essence.

Central monitoring integration
ARRI LightNet can also be integrated into external central monitoring systems such as Zabbix or Prometheus via an external IPA (application programming interface), which delivers all the data collected over the lighting network. Seamlessly integrated workflow integration between systems is, then, practical and achievable.
